Subject: Call for papers--American Chemical Society
Preliminary Symposium Announcement: Chemists do more than chemistry The program for the Division of the History of Chemistry at the spring 2001 national meeting of the American Chemical Society will include a symposium titled "Chemists do more than chemistry". At two recent ACS national meetings, the HIST division program included symposia entitled "Not only chemists do chemistry." They focused on contributions to chemistry from individuals in other fields of science and technology. The upcoming symposium will concentrate on a complementary area, contributions of chemists to areas outside chemistry. These may be contributions of chemists to other areas of science and technology or to areas further afield, such as politics, music, or literature. The spring 2001 national meeting of ACS is scheduled for April 1-5 in San Diego, CA. Abstracts will be due through the ACS electronic submission system in late fall 2000 (dates and details to come).
