X-ray and IR examination

I work at a new Center of Conservation, Restoration and Artistic
Studies in Santiago Chile (CREA). CREA is trying to implement new
technologies that don't exist over here. I am interested in getting
some information about x-ray and IR Reflectography, directed towards
the study of easel paintings from the nineteenth century and paper.

The specific information I need is the results that these techniques
of examination gives towards the conservation, restoration and
documenting process. We need this information in the daily practice
of these exams. The equipment doesn't exist over here, so we would
like a little advice in the matter.
