Associate Conservator
Textile Conservation Center/American Textile History Museum.

The Textile Conservation Center (TCC) is seeking qualified
applicants for an Associate Conservator to work in a fully equipped
conservation lab. This is a full-time, permanent position. As part
of a regional conservation center, responsibilities include the
examination, treatment and documentation of a wide variety of
textiles received from museums, historical societies and private
owners. Other duties will include participating in the organization
and preparation of the Museum's in-house exhibitions, collections
care education for clients, developing conservation workshops,
conducting surveys,supervising and mentoring staff. Applicants
should have a well-rounded historical and technical understanding of
textiles, extensive knowledge in conservation theory, chemistry and
practice of textile treatment.  Must have demonstrated ability to
work independently, productively and to manage team projects.
Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
with co-workers and client base.

Candidates should be graduates of a recognized training program, or
have equivalent experience. A minimum of five years experience as a
conservator is required. Competitive salary and excellent benefits.
