Subject: Internships at Dorset Archives Service
Internships Dorset Archives Service Dorset Archives Service expects to be advertising soon for at least one, and probably two full-time, eighteen month conservation internship posts. The work will be a mixture of paper and parchment treatments on material from the sixteenth century to the present. Training for the posts will be provided, within a framework designed to assist conservators working towards eventual accreditation. Additional relevant external training and CPD opportunities will sought as they arise. The posts will depend on finalising financial support from external sources and should become available by September 2000. The Preservation Services Division within Dorset Archives consists of a state-of-the-art conservation laboratory, with automated diagnostic recording and reporting systems, and a fully equipped modern reprographics unit with microfilming, film processing and digital copying facilities. The interns will gain experience in the work of all sections of the Division. If you have just completed a relevant conservation degree or higher diploma, or have appropriate experience, and are interested in receiving further information about the vacancies, please send your name, address and contact details, preferably with a short description of your qualifications and experience, to: Chris Woods Senior Archive Conservation Preservation Services Division Dorset Archives Service Bridport Road Dorchester Dorset DT1 1RP United Kingdom c.s.woods [at] dorset-cc__gov__uk *** Conservation DistList Instance 14:1 Distributed: Monday, June 19, 2000 Message Id: cdl-14-1-036 ***Received on Monday, 19 June, 2000
