Researcher in 'in situ' preservation of archaeological materials

With immediate effect The Danish National Museum
<URL:http://www.nationalmuseet.dk/> is seeking to employ a senior
researcher/researcher to work with in situ preservation of
archaeological materials in terrestrial environments.

The applicant must hold a PhD degree, or similar, based on a natural
science education, with knowledge of the following disciplines:
electrochemistry/corrosion, soil science, measuring techniques and
field and laboratory work.

The work will include investigation of deterioration processes of
artefacts, and development of environmental monitoring methods and
strategies to preserve archaeological finds in situ. Skills in
project leadership, co-ordination and post-graduate student
supervision are furthermore required to develop this key area of
research within the National Museum.

Written application and CV, together with scientific publications,
which the applicant wants included in the evaluation, shall be
forwarded in triplicate to: Nationalmuseet, Personalekontoret,
Frederiksholms Kanal 12, DK-1220 Copenhagen, Denmark. The
application shall be marked "seniorforsker--in situ", and received
before June 6, 2000.
