Conservator, Ethnology Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin The Ethnology Museum in Berlin (part of the Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin - Preubischer Kulturbesitz) announces a search to fill, by 1 August 2000, a position of Conservator, Grade V c BAT. Tasks: Conservation and restoration responsibility for the American archaeological collections (excepting textiles); must be able to work independently on restoration and conservation of inorganic and organic materials; responsible for preventive conservation or collections care; responsible for interns and external visitors. Training: Completion of a Fachhochschule program or comparable; experience in the fields of restoration with relevant specialized knowledge, including both inorganic and organic materials. Knowledge of American archaeological cultures, sufficient language skills in Spanish and English (as well as German). Applications from women are especially welcomed. Part-time status may be possible. However, a willingness for flexible work hours according to needs of the collection is necessary. Preference will be given to qualified applicants with disabilities.
