Conservation Demonstrator The Textile Conservation Centre Winchester School of Art University of Southampton Salary in the range: UKP16,286 - UKP18,185 (pay award pending) 3 year contract Ref:A/475 The Centre moved from Hampton Court Palace to its new, purpose-designed building on the Winchester Campus of the University of Southampton last August. With two new MA courses in Textile Conservation and Museum Studies, plus a new building, new equipment and new academic links it is an exciting time to be at the Centre. We are seeking a Conservation Demonstrator to assist with the teaching of MA students. You must have a postgraduate qualification in textile conservation and an interest in communicating your knowledge. You will assist with supervision of interventive work and develop your own portfolio of practical and lecture sessions You will also be able to undertake conservation projects, acting as a model of good practice, and so develop your own skills as well as teaching others. You will also have the opportunity to undertake a qualification in university teaching and develop your own research interests should you wish. You will also be involved in the wider work of the Studies and Research Department.
