Collections Care Section Library Technician (Collections Care Technician) Collections Care Section, Binding and Collections Care Division, Preservation Directorate, Library Services Temporary, not-to-exceed 120 days Library of Congress: Preservation Directorate GS-1411-6 (10748) $25,976-$33,768 (salary includes locality pay) GS-1411-7 (10749) $28,866-$37,522 (salary includes locality pay) Number of Vacancies: One Tour of Duty: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day The incumbent will use automated box making system to construct custom-fitted enclosures for Library materials from the permanent research collections; prepare materials for enclosure; remove materials from acidic binders or containers and replace with protective enclosures; perform basic repairs; search the Library's online and manual catalogs, and other related duties that support the activities of the Preservation Directorate. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants applying for the GS-6 level must have six months of experience equivalent to the GS-5 in the Federal service or a comparable level outside the Federal service. Applicants applying for the GS-7 level must have six months of experience equivalent to the GS-6 in the Federal service or a comparable level outside the Federal service. Test Requirements: Applicants must pass the Library of Congress Clerical Test. A copy of the test results must be attached to the application. (Clerical test may be waived for applicants with a Bachelor's degree.)
