Fifth International Symposium on Wood and Furniture Conservation
Amsterdam
December 7-8, 2000

The Fifth International Symposium on Wood and Furniture conservation
will be held on 7 and 8 December 2000 in Amsterdam. In anticipation
of the Dutch 'Year of the Interior' in 2001, papers are invited
dealing with the conservation, restoration and reconstruction of
interiors.

Furniture conservators are involved more and more in the
conservation of complete interiors, from furniture to
wall-panelling, floors and wooden ceilings. These are often large
projects where conservators of different disciplines meet and work
together with art-historians, building-experts and designers.

Comparison of the situation in various countries would be
interesting. Anyone wishing to present a paper on the conservation
and reconstruction of wooden-based interiors, on ethical questions
or on conservation research is invited to submit an abstract of
approximately 250 words, before June 1, 2000 to:
