Historical references to paper deterioration

Here is another reference on paper deterioration. It is not only
about deterioration--it contains also lots of old recipes and
techniques for conservation. A very interesting and imaginative
work. Here goes an example: Bonnardot use to make his own hot
spatula supporting a piece of burning wood with a spoon! Anyway, I
