Call for Papers Iron Gall Inks--Past, Present and Future Newcastle Sep. 4-5, 2000 The Conservation Department, at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, is to hold a two day meeting on Iron Gall Inks, on 4th and 5th of September 2000. The meeting is intended to draw together current thinking with regard to our understanding and treatment of Iron Gall Ink Media. It is hoped to cover: * The use of Iron Gall Ink as a media for writing and drawing. * The physical and chemical characteristics of Iron Gall Ink. * An evaluation of the effectiveness of past Iron Gall Ink conservation treatments. * A consideration of contemporary approaches to the conservation of Iron Gall Ink * Potential future approaches to the treatment of Iron Gall Ink.
