IMLS Conservation Assessment Program

From: Kristen Overbeck <koverbeck>
Date: Thursday, February 17, 2000
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and Heritage
Preservation are pleased to announce that museums will have another
opportunity to apply for the FY2000 Conservation Assessment Program
(CAP). Applications must be postmarked by Saturday, April 1, 2000
and will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis. Funds are
limited for this second deadline so interested institutions should
submit applications as soon as possible. For application materials
visit <http://www.heritagepreservation.org> or contact Kyra Skvir at
kskvir [at] heritagepreservation__org or 202-634-1422.

CAP provides funds a general survey of a museum's collections,
environmental conditions, and sites. The assessment process and
resulting reports can help museums develop strategies for improved
collections care, long-range planning, and fund-raising. The
program is funded by IMLS and administered by Heritage Preservation.

Museums that are not able to apply before April 1, 2000 should
contact Heritage Preservation to verify they are on our application
mailing list. The 2001 application will be mailed on October 6,
2000 and will have a postmark deadline of December 1, 2000.
