Due to the financial impact of last summer's flooding on cultural institutions in North Carolina, SOLINET is offering a special $30 registration rate for the May 15, 2000 "Did Our Insurance Policy Say That, Risk Management and Insurance Issues for Libraries and Cultural Collections". This special rate applies to any registrant from an institution within North Carolina. Did Our Insurance Policy Say That? Risk Management and Insurance Issues for Library and Cultural Collections. This full day workshop discusses risk management techniques for libraries and cultural collections. Through lecture, discussion and breakout sessions the following topics will be highlighted: valuation of collections; types of property insurance coverage; insuring specific materials; choosing an insurance agent; appraisal. The instructor for this workshop is Jeanne Drewes, Assistant Director for Access and Preservation, Michigan State University Libraries. Guest Presenters from allied fields will participate in breakout sessions.
