Bettina Landgrebe in 1988 wrote an article on this subject:

    "Moglichkeiten zur Abnahme von Wachs-Harzdoublierungen",
in Zeitschrift fur Kunsttechnologie und Konservierung
    Jahrgang 2/1988, Heft 2, p. 297-304.

In this article Ms. Landgrebe describes a technique using a
solvent-gel: Klucel M with 350g/150 ml Isopropyl alcohol:Testbenzin
(Esso-Varsol 150/180 deg;) 3:1. The treatment is described in detail
and takes place on a heatable low-suction table.
