Lecturer in the Conservation of Paintings (half time)
Courtauld Institute of Art

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (half time) in the
Department  of Conservation & Technology, from 1st September, 2000.

The successful applicant will contribute to the  postgraduate
Diploma Course in the Conservation of Easel Paintings through the
teaching of an introductory science course for non-scientists; the
provision of technical support at all levels throughout the
Department; the conduct and supervision of research in the field of
the conservation of paintings and, ideally, participate in the
supervision of students' practical conservation work.

Applicants should have a good degree in one of the physical
sciences, a chemistry related subject is preferred, and an education
in conservation or, at the very least, a demonstrable interest in
paintings.

Salary, including London Weighting will be pro rata on Lecturer
Scale, currently UKP19,372-UKP24,713 (Lecturer A) and
UKP25,655-UKP32,199 (Lecturer B).
