I am posting this for a colleague in Lima. It would be greatly

be interested.

Conservator/Lecturer in Easel Painting and Polychrome Wood Sculpture
Conservation Institute Yachay-Wasi in Lima, Peru

    We are searching for a conservator/restorer qualified for
    teaching at undergraduate level in the areas of easel painting
    and polychrome wood sculpture, mainly 16th century to late
    baroque. Appointment for one academic year, renewable, to start
    next March 20 or August 15, 2000.

    Responsibility will include workshop practice, theoretical
    classes (25% of time), written and graphic documentation of
    cases, good knowledge of materials and techniques. Collaboration
    with chemical laboratory for analysis and research, and with art
    history department, is also required. The appointment offers
    travelling opportunities inside Peru, developing research,
    publications, and participation in field work and in museums .

    Candidates are expected to have a degree from a recognized
    conservation training center, 3-4 years workshop experience and
    some teaching background. Efficient communication skills are
    important, as well as a basic knowledge of Spanish.

    Successful applicant will receive a round trip ticket to Lima; a
    salary of US $10,200, free of tax (a good value for local
    standards), for a 5 day work week.
