Textile Conservators Historic Royal Palaces The Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) house a collection of large scale textiles comprising tapestries, state beds, furnishings and the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. HRP is looking for several textile conservators, with proven training and practical experience, to join the team of 13 based at Hampton Court Palace. You will be undertaking practical conservation treatments under the direction of Section Managers, and must be capable of providing and assessing treatment options within a variety of contexts. You must be a good organiser and capable of managing and delivering projects within deadline and budget. All the Studios' work is supported by a conservation scientist and a technician, and you will need to incorporate their work with yours. Accurate record keeping is vital. Much of the work is carried out in small teams, and an ability to work closely with and sometimes manage others is essential. Self motivation, a lively interest in the work, responsibility and humour are also ideal ingredients for this role. Remuneration: Range 7 - Salary Sterling 18,455 - 20,906 Range 8 - Salary Sterling 15,978 - 18,100 Depending on qualifications and experience Range 9 - Salary Sterling 14,526 - ,16,454 Deadline for application - 5th January 2000.
