I have tried to keep the text as brief as possible--the post involves working on material from public and private museums, and from government bodies such as Historic Scotland. Post details are as follows: Conservator with archaeological experience AOC Archaeology Group Edinburgh, Scotland. A conservator with a minimum of one years' post-qualification experience is sought by the AOC Archaeology Group <URL:http://www.aocarchaeology.com/>, to work on a wide variety of materials from excavations and collections. Applicants must be able to demonstrate competence in all aspects of archaeological conservation, including wet organics, metals and glass. Applicants must be able to work under pressure, think on their feet in an emergency, and must be able to communicate effectively with clients and specialists. He/she must be able to produce accurate assessments and estimates, and to adhere to budgets and deadlines. He/she must be computer literate, and able to produce clear written reports for specialists and non-specialists. All applicants must have a current driving licence; should be willing to travel, and to work away from home on occasion. Since the workload will be variable, preference will be given to applicants with additional skills that would be of use to a commercial archaeology company: for example archaeological training and/or experience. The post is based in Edinburgh: AOC has offices in Edinburgh, Leeds and London, and operates throughout the UK. Salary: UKP13,000 - UKP16,000 depending on experience.
