Subject: Imitation finishes on buildings
I am studying the exterior of a Greek Revival building in South Carolina that has a variety of exterior faux finishes created. They are all made of plaster renders and include faux granite, marbling, faux red sandstone, and imitation limestone ashlar. These imitation finishes are joined by elements of actual stone, in this case, granite and red sandstone. Has anyone seen similar exterior treatments?
