Archaeological conservator with a specialty in waterlogged organic materials Grenoble (France) The Regional Conservation Workshop A.R.C Nucleart, located in Grenoble, is seeking a conservator specialized in conservation/restoration of archaeological organic materials. The Post is a full-time position under one year contract which could be renewed into a permanent position. Applicants should have a recognised qualification in conservation : Master's Degree in conservation from a recognised college or university (Paris I, IFROA or equivalent). The conservator will be responsible for all aspects of the conservation of archaeological waterlogged organic materials such as wood, leather, rope, basketry, etc...She/He will perform highly skilled work including artefacts condition survey, data-base documentation, digital imaging and processing of artefacts. She/He must be able to have preliminary technical discussions with the customers (curators and/or archaeologists). This post includes supervision of interns and laboratory research projects. A preliminary professional experience of a few years in the field is desirable. Moreover specific experience in the conservation of archaeological metal for the processing and restoration of composite materials (wood/metal) would be appreciated, as well as experience in making exhibition supports and moulding. A current PC software's knowledge is necessary. Applicants must have French speaking and writing abilities. English is necessary, and Italian would be appreciated.
