Advanced Internship in Objects conservation The Brooklyn Museum of Art has received IMLS funding to offer a two year internship in objects conservation, beginning in the Fall 1999. The internship will focus on the condition review, documentation, and treatment of Egyptian collections for installation in the Museum's permanent galleries. The intern will also be introduced to the full range of treatment, research, and preventive activities carried out by an active, multi-disciplinary conservation department caring for a diverse collection. The intern will work under the supervision of lab objects conservators, and will be encouraged to interact with mount makers, art handlers, curators, designers, and registrars. The internship salary is $ 20,000 per year with full Museum benefits, plus a travel stipend.
