Vomitus

In Instance 13:18, Kira Moore asks via Victoria Susan White how to
remove vomit stains from books.  As many parents know, the best way
to remove the smell of vomit from small children is by sponging the
affected part with a weak alkali such as sodium bicarbonate.  I
guess the same remedy could be applied to the cover or edges of a
book.
