Some helpful sources for conservation lab design are as follows:

Metcalf, Keyes D. Planning Academic and Research Library
Buildings, 2d ed. Chicago: American Library Association, 1986.

Peterson, Kenneth G. "Preservation at the Morris Library,
Southern Illinois University." In The Library Preservation
Program: Models, Priorities, Possibilities: Proceedings of a
Conference 29 April, 1983, ed. Jan Merrill-Oldman and Merrily
Smith, 41-50. Chicago: American Library Association, 1985.

Rowley, Gordon, and Ivan Hanthorn. "Designing a Conservation
Treatment Facility: Charting a Course into a Less Familiar
Region of Planning for Libraries." Journal of Academic
    Librarianship 22, no. 2 (March 1996): 97-104.

These publications relate to library design, but their advice could
be applicable to museums.
