LAPNet was established in 1987 to meet the preservation needs of
librarians, conservators, archivists and records managers in Los
Angeles City and County. It is managed by a Steering Committee drawn
from libraries and other record repositories, and aims to serve as a
forum of information exchange and to foster the development of
preservation and cooperative programs among all the libraries in the
area, irrespective of their type and size.

The AMIGOS Preservation Service is funded in part by a grant from
the Division of Preservation and Access, National Endowment for the
Humanities. AMIGOS Bibliographic Council, Inc., based in Dallas,
Texas, is a library resource sharing network with over 625 members.

The LAPNet Steering Committee gratefully acknowledges the generous
support of the Occidental College Library Administration in funding
part of this workshop.
