Subject: Copper sculpture
I am writing on behalf of a colleague not on this list. He is treating a "doughboy" war memorial statue made of sheets of copper. About twenty years ago, someone coated the surface with gold enamel paint. He would like to know if anyone has a suggestion for removing this paint quickly and efficiently. He would like to stay away from chemical removers like methylene chloride. One thought was to use CO2. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I'll see that he receives them. Thanks very much.
