Acquiring web sites

We are interested in knowing about existing efforts to
collect/archive/preserve web sites--whatever that may mean.  While
the philosophical and technical challenges this poses are truly
formidable, the Department of Architecture & Design at SFMOMA has
become increasingly interested in collecting this new era of design.
It would be useful to be part of a dialog with others who have taken
this on.
