The following three positions are available in the Preservation
Services Branch of the National Library of Australia.

Preservation Reformatting: APS Level 6
Position Number 417

This position is responsible for the management of the Preservation
Reformatting Unit. The successful applicant will possess sound
experience and theoretical knowledge of preservation microform and
digital reformatting techniques and issues.

Paper Conservation: APS Level 6
Position Number 734

This position is responsible for managing the Preservation and
Conservation treatment program for the Library's paper based
collections. The occupant will be required to plan, supervise and
deliver the preservation treatment programs for paper based
materials.

Digital Preservation: APS Level 5
Position number 712
AUS$40695 - $43152
Provide access to and ensure preservation duplication of a range of
contemporary and superceded software and media in an environment of
constant technological change and develop procedures to deal with
technical problems. A sound knowledge of, and practical competence
with, computers and the nature of digital information, archiving of
data and physical formats is essential along with the ability to
liaise and communicate effectively.

Conditions and eligibility for all vacancies:  Staff of the Library
are employed under the Public Service Act.  The Library has a
Certified Agreement which sets conditions of employment and can be
