Applications are invited for a conservator in the Eastern Art on
Paper and Silk Section (Hirayama Studio) of the Department of
Conservation of The British Museum.

Duties.  Work in the studio supports the collections of both the
Departments of Japanese and Oriental Antiquities.

Qualifications and experience.  Applications are invited from
conservators who can demonstrate a committed interest to oriental
works of art on paper and silk.  A knowledge of their cultural
background, as well as techniques and materials used in their
construction is desirable.  Degree level conservation training or
equivalent academic and work experience is required.  Applicants
should be computer literate.

The post is graded as Band 6 and the salary will be in the region of
UKP 11,950-23,150 according to qualifications and experience.  For
