1. Amigos Preservation Service Field Services Officer
2. Amigos Imaging Service Coordinator

Amigos Library Services is a nonprofit membership organization
serving over 600 libraries and other cultural institutions in the
southwestern United States. The Amigos Preservation Service (APS)
has provided preservation information, support, and training to
librarians and archivists in the Southwest since 1991. The Amigos
Imaging Service (AIS) was established in 1998 provide digital
imaging education, training and support; and to promote best
practices and cooperation among institutions. The APS and AIS are
supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

1. Amigos Preservation Service Field Services Officer

Responsibilities: Develop and conduct training courses and
presentations to enable member library staff and other clients to
understand and utilize appropriate preservation techniques; conduct
site surveys to evaluate physical condition of facilities and
collection materials and make recommendations for appropriate
activities to assure maximum collection life span; provide
preservation technical support and consulting by telephone, email,
written and electronic publications, and onsite visits; assist
library staff with emergency disaster recovery; develop preservation
publications and leaflets issued by Preservation Service, including
maintenance and development of technical bulletins, brochures, and
articles for AMIGOS publications; prepare statistical and narrative
reports; represent AMIGOS at state, regional, and national meetings;
market AMIGOS services in collaboration with all staff; and
participate in planning activities of the Preservation Service,
including long-range strategic planning, coordinating workshop and
presentation schedules, and maintenance and organization of resource
materials.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related professional field
required. Master's in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school
and/or certificate of preservation or archival administration
desirable. Extensive knowledge of preservation practice, principles,
and issues required. Three (3) years of preservation education or
related professional experience; professional library or archival
experience in an academic environment preferred. Demonstrated
excellent planning, training and presentation, consulting, oral and
written communication skills. Microsoft Suite and Lotus Notes
computing skills desirable. Energetic, goal-focused, leadership
traits; enjoy interactions of team environment as well as individual
contributor; enjoy meeting clients? needs; enjoy fast-paced,
exciting, highly-rewarding work environment.

Minimum Salary for candidate meeting all requirements: $35,000 plus
generous benefits including health, life, retirement, 15 days leave
and 15 holidays per year.

2. Amigos Imaging Service Coordinator

Responsibilities: Develop and conduct training courses and
presentations to enable member library staff and other clients to
understand and utilize appropriate digital imaging techniques;
provide digital imaging technical support and consulting by
telephone, email, written and electronic publications, and onsite
visits; coordinate the AMIGOS Imaging Team; prepare statistical and
narrative reports; assist with administration of the NEH grant
responsibilities which includes securing required matching funds;
represent AMIGOS at state, regional, and national meetings; and
market AMIGOS services in collaboration with all staff.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related professional field
required. Any of the following are highly desirable: Master's in
Library Science from an ALA-accredited school or certificate of
preservation or archival administration or significant coursework in
records management or information systems. Extensive knowledge of
digital imaging practice, principles, and issues required. Three (3)
years related professional experience; professional library or
archival experience in an academic environment highly desirable.
Demonstrated excellent planning, training and presentation,
