Mud

After the tornado in Oklahoma some of our staff have asked about
cleaning caked on mud and debris from plastic, wood and glass. One
of the staff says she can clean it off but it leaves a residue that
won't come off. Any suggestions for getting this stuff off? It is
stuck on everything, picture frames, computer modems, glass, etc.
