Storing parasols

I am a volunteer at the Chester County Historical Society in West
Chester, PA. The recent openings for Curator and Collections Manager
are just now being filled. They are not yet up to speed on E-Mail so
I was asked to help.

Question: How best to store the collection of parasols? Flat?,
stuffed?, boxed?, Open? (not really, but..). Any and all ideas are
welcome.
