Watts Towers Restoration Tour The Society of Architectural Historians, Southern California Chapter is sponsoring the first tour of the Watts Towers since 1994. The tour of the towers, a National Historic Landmark in Los Angeles, will be held June 26, from 10 a.m.. to 2 p.m. Presentations will examine the history and current repairs and conservation work on the cement mortar and steel monument designed and built by Simon Rodia between 1921 and 1955. The event, designed by Mr. Ted Wells, President of SAH, will be conducted by conservator Zuleyma C. Aguirre and conservation engineer Bud Goldstone. Aguirre and Goldstone have been under contract for ten years to Cultural Affairs Department, City of Los Angeles. Members of SAH or AIC cost is $12 , non-members $20. Space is limited to 60 persons.
