These online articles available on the ASHRAE web site were brought
to my attention by Peter Herzog and June Wheeler. The title of the
page is "Practical Guide to Museums and Historic Renovation." and it
can be found at <URL:http://www.ashrae.org/JOURNAL/pgmenu2.htm>

The following articles are available on-line (PDF).

    HVAC at 18th-Century Colonial Williamsburg
    by Clyde Delmar Kestner, P.E.

    Air Distribution for Large Spaces
by Dan Int-Hout and Lean Kostra

    Filters and Filtration
by Timothy J. Robinson and Alan E. Ouellet

    What Makes Records Deteriorate
    by Paul N. Banks

Temperature and Relative Humidity Effects on the
Mechanical and Chemical Stability of Collectors
by Marion F. Mecklenburg, Ph.D., and Charles S.
    Tumosa, Ph.D.

Understanding What Humidity Does and Why
    by Kenneth M. Elovitz, P.E.

    HVAC for Historic Buildings
    by Sharon C. Park, FAIA

There are also two articles on cold storage available from Henry
Wilhelm's web site. One is the article published in the April issue
of PEI Magazine (Photo Electronic Imaging). PEI Magazine makes
articles from back issues available in PDF format at their web site,
but this one is on Henry's. There is also an 18 slide presentation
that Mark McCormick-Goodhart made at the National Archives in March
available from this site. The page is
<URL:http://www.wilhelm-research.com/Cold_Storage/cold_storage.html>.

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it, but it is free and you
can get Acrobat from the previously mentioned page. You'll see the
words "View" and "Read" on the page. "View" will pull up the PEI
article which you can either download as a PDF file or read via
Acrobat. "Read" will get you to Mark's slide presentation that can
be viewed via Acrobat as well. You'll probably find some artifacts
if you print the articles (squished letters and things like that),
but the screen version is fine.
