Columbia University and the University of Texas
Thursday, May 6, 4:00-5:30 p.m.

Preservation and Conservation Studies facilities, corner MLK and Red
River, Austin, Texas

Purpose: To celebrate the recent *Number 1 ranking* of the
Preservation and Archives program of the University of Texas by U.S.
News and World Report.

Preceding the celebration, second-year conservator students will
present their semester projects in the conservation labs, 1:30-3:15
P.M.

Joining us for the celebration will be Paul Banks, founder of the
Preservation and Conservation curriculum in 1981 at Columbia, and
Bobbie Pillette, who taught the conservation courses at Texas for
several years.

Upcoming celebrations: Those who live too far from Austin to join
us this Thursday should look for the gatherings that are being
scheduled during the upcoming meetings of the AIC and the ALA.
