Subject: Workshop on built heritage
A workshop, 'Planning Successful Built Heritage Projects' will be held in St.John's, Newfoundland, June 2-3rd/99. Aimed at interested members of the heritage community, and at others who may be contemplating 'doing up' an older building, the program introduces built heritage conservation philosophy, vocabulary, ethics and resources and illustrates the different approaches possible, and the factors which determine which is appropriate. The first day will be largely theoretical, illustrated with case history type presentations. The second day becomes more interactive and specific, with a panel discussion, site visit/group exercise, and technical presentations. There will be an accompanying trade fair.
