Selection for preservation

This is in response to Nina Duggen's inquiry about "selection for
preservation".  I would suggest you look at the new Getty
publication of the conference at the Getty Conservation Center last
year on this topic: "Mortality Immortality?".  There were a number
of thoughtful papers presented at the conference which might provide
you with a solid basis for further research and discussion.
