The Musee Curie, hosting Marie Curie's chemistry laboratory had  to
deal back in 1981 with the issue of 'decontaminating' radioactive
scientific instruments and other artefacts of historic value such as
a box (wood and lead) that had contained one gram of radium in 1921.
