Museum Technician National Museum of American History National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, offers a rare opportunity to work on a project of national historic significance. The Star-Spangled Banner that flew over Ft. McHenry will be conserved over a 4 year period in a custom lab on view to the public. A position is being filled, ranging in salary from $22,208 to $35,760. Successful applicants will have a knowledge of and experience with textile conservation practices, with emphasis on woolen textiles. Position requires nights and weekends and physical abilities to work while lying down/sitting/standing for extended periods. Also requires ability to move up to 60 pounds of fabric and equipment, and the ability to climb ladders.
