Pressure sensitive tape

Document Repair Tape is a product sold by University Products that
is probably similar to Filmoplast since it is advertised as
"pressure sensitive".  The 1998/99 catalog listing describes it as
"thoroughly tested and approved by numerous government agencies and
is a favorite of both conservators and collectors".   Is this also a
product we should avoid using?
