Subject: Carcinogenicity of fluorescent retouching lights
**** Moderator's comments: Please respond directly to the author. I have recently been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma behind my ear. A colleague at the Tate Gallery has heard that a number of US conservator have been similarly diagnosed and that the cause may be the UV emissions from fluorescent retouching light banks. Does anyone have any information on this? Would anyone with a similar condition like to contact me. Is there any research in this area?
