Subject: Documentation
I'm working to prepare, with a group of documentation experts, the GraDoc (Graphic Documentation Systems in Conservation of Mural Paintings) meeting (see below), where I will be involved, as member of the ICR (Istituto Centrale per il Restauro), in Computer Aided Documentation. I'm collecting digital experiences in the field of mural Painting documentation (mainly digital Condition report based on vector software) to have a complete view and an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages in computer aided documentation versus manual documentation. Does anyone has experiences and/or articles or paper? The final goal is the production of a bibliography and share this kind of information via web. For a better understanding of the aims and the goals of the seminar see <URL:http://www.iccrom.org/eng/activ/p36grae.htm> or the Italian translation on the ICR'r Web site on <URL:http://www.beniculturali.it/icr/P36grai.htm> Here you have an extract from the ICCROM page: "The seminar aims at creating a platform for the productive interchange of ideas and the establishment of personal contacts amongst professionals with vast experience in this topic; defining the basic principles for the graphic documentation of mural paintings] drafting guidelines, which specify the aims and indicate minimum requirements as well as desirable options; evaluating recent applications, including computer-aided systems; and eventually establishing on-going contacts amongst documentation specialists and users". Any help would be very appreciated, Giancarlo Buzzanca *** Conservation DistList Instance 12:72 Distributed: Monday, March 8, 1999 Message Id: cdl-12-72-008 ***Received on Monday, 8 March, 1999
