Provincial Archives of Manitoba

The Provincial Archives of Manitoba, Department of Culture, Heritage
and Citizenship, requires a Paper Conservator for its conservation
program.  The successful candidate will provide preventive
conservation and conservation treatment services for a wide variety
of archival materials dating from 1670, and take part in Archives
outreach programs.

Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized conservation training
program and two years practical experience, or equivalent training
and experience in conservation. Ability to work within a team;
effective judgement and problem solving skills; demonstrated
initiative and effective written and oral communication skills.
Experience in archives conservation is desirable.  Specialization in
bookbinding or audio-visual media, is an asset, as is experience in
consulting and in development and delivery of training programs for
small institutions.  Employment equity is a factor in the selection
process. Salary: $33,324.00 to $42,932 per annum (as of March 27,
1999). Date: 2 Apr 1999
