Scanning archival materials

Does anyone know of a contact who has experience scanning archival
material? I have a client who is interested in having a scrapbook
scanned so that a facsimile can be placed on exhibit instead of the
original. I anticipate that a weak link may be the problem of prior
experience doing this sort of project; the stability of inks and
paper; the format size 16 x 12 inches; and the overall scope. It may
not be possible at this time, but any ideas are welcome.
