The Conservation Department of the Museum of New Mexico is seeking a
full-time associate conservator of cultural materials who can work
independently to provide a broad range of tangible conservation
products and professional services to enhance the preservation of
the Museum's collections.

Qualifications include a graduate degree or certificate in
conservation with an additional two years of supervised and directed
conservation experience in corrective and preventive conservation of
cultural materials.   We seek an individual who has demonstrated the
ability to creatively and effectively manage multiple, complex and
diverse conservation assignments.  The applicant must have
demonstrated an ability to broadly apply examination, conservation
and documentation methods responsive to cultural material issues and
have excellent communication and writing skills.  Applicants with
experience in field archaeological conservation and/or ethnological
conservation working successfully with descendent populations are
especially encouraged to apply.

Salary range $24,500 - $36,695 with good benefits; the position is
state funded and listed as a Museum Specialist 2G.  Applicants
