Filmoplast P1 tape

I am writing in response to the recent discussion about pressure
sensitive tapes (e.g., Filmoplast P, P90). There are no acceptable
pressure sensitive adhesive products for use in a conservation
context. No matter how the adhesive is designed, the physical
properties of pressure sensitive adhesives are still destructive to
paper and media. We in the paper conservation field do not believe
that pressure sensitive adhesive products are reversible. Methods
used for their removal inevitably affect the media or substrate.
This includes self-stick notes such as "Post-it."
