You might also contact T. Rose Holdcraft at Harvard University's
Peabody Museum of Natural History.  They have recently done a
substantial project on tapa cloth and might be a good resource.  I
know Gerri Strickler was involved too, and she is now at the Gerald
R. Ford Conservation Center in Omaha.  Good luck,
