Zoran Milic asked how to prevent a rainbow appearance when coating
gold and silver.

Try warming the objects before coating them, and applying 2 or 3
very dilute coats of lacquer, rather than 1 thick coat. Also try to
slow down the drying rate of the lacquer. Hope this helps,
