The most promising way to get detailed information about
cyclododecane is to contact Dr. Erhard Jagers and Dr. Elisabeth
Jagers who brought up the so-called volatile binding media for
conservation purposes in 1995 (together with the freelance
conservator Hans Hangleiter).

In the meantime, the materials have been tested with a wide variety
of applications in conservation, e.g. for temporary consolidation,
temporary protective coating or water repellent, and with almost all
kinds of artworks. The material evaporates without leaving any
residue. Concerning stained glass it was successfully used as a
protective coating for the lead and for other sensitive areas during
cleaning treatment. For further information, please contact:
