Formalin and formaldehyde resins in conservation

From: Niccolo Caldararo <caldararo>

Thanks to Barry Knight for this reply to my request on formaldehyde.
I was aware only that in the English translation the translator had
added formaldehyde resin as a method for the consolidation of bone,
but it seems strange that since Bakelite was invented by a German
that it would not have been used by German conservators. Mark
Gilberg is also at a loss to find any references on this.
