Adhesives for ceramics

I have recently been working on a series of projects involving
reassembly of damaged 19th c. lead/zinc castings in which the metal
mass has become entirely oxidized, and have also become involved
with reassembling a piece of Pre-columbian ceramic statuary.  Is it
a correct presumption that the adhesive parameters for these two
ostensibly similar bodies are also very similar?  An additional
factor; the castings are to remain outside. Thanks for any insights,
